Pitching is a beautiful thing. It’s an art—it’s a work of art when it’s done right. It’s like a ballet or the theatre. And, like any work of art, you have to have it in your head first—the idea of it, a vision of what it should be. And then you have to perform. You try to make your hand and body come up to that vision. When you do it, when you can sense sometimes that it’s been done right, it’s an extraordinary feeling. It’s the most beautiful thing in sports.
