Speaking of hair metal: I pretty much hated Poison, but I liked this song okay. And especially within this song, I REALLY like the bit that starts out with, “At the drive in, in the old man’s Ford…” Those few lines are kind of the best example of that whole genre, if you ask me.
P.S. Watch what Bret Michaels does at the 2:30 time stamp. I don’t think I’ve seen anything coked-up-ier in my life.
Rewatching this, I felt really fortunate to come of age in a time when “cool guys” wore more makeup than my mom.
I started to watch this and thought about how sad it was that Sebastian Bach is dead now and yet in this video he seems so young and alive and then I remembered that it’s Jani Lane who’s dead now, not Sebastian Bach; Sebastian is the one who sold his soul to that VH1 show when he lost his hair oh christ no that’s Brett Michaels damnit I can’t keep all these poodles apart.
