There’s a conversation going on over on the WOXY message boards about how it might be possible to save WOXY, with people throwing out ideas of how to make the service better and more sustainable. I don’t have any solutions of my own, but some people are talking about making it more “on demand,” rather than maintaining a traditional linear radio station.

I’m going to sound 80 years old when I say this, but isn’t there something magical about when your favorite song comes on the radio and totally surprises you? Like, I can’t believe that they’re playing this song right now?

And is that now gone for good?
