On Friday night, Jane’s Addiction were about to start “Stop” when the fireworks began over the river after the Reds game. It may have been one of my favorite concert moments in recent memory. The bang of the fireworks hit all the right notes.
My last great memory of this song was from high school, when our drama class took a trip to Playhouse In The Park, high on a hill in Mt. Adams. We drama kids parked ourselves at a picnic table overlooking the city, someone pulled out a boombox and a cassette tape, this song came on, and we danced like mad people on that hill as buses from other schools rolled into the parking lot, kids with noses pressed to the windows, staring at the dancing freaks.
Twenty years later, another great memory of the same song in the same great city to add to the pot.
